Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween!
Ryan-Parker, Bill and I went out trick-or-treating last night in our city. We had lots of fun and met up with my sister and her son Braden at Meadowgrove Baptist Church. They had lots of fun games and treats for the kiddos.
Ryan-Parker enjoyed showing off his Ratatouille costume! He shook his little tail on his big behind for all our neighbors! Everyone got a kick out of it. I usually do not like rats...but of course I LOVE this one! My cutie.

Today is also my mother's birthday, so HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM (MEME)!

Mississippi State Fair

We had a great time at the Mississippi State Fair this year. We went with our friends Mitch, Julie, Casey and Lindsay from Mom and Dad's bible study group. I love playing with their kids! We got to ride lots of rides. Some I rode with Ashleigh and Katherine and Daddy and Mommy rode with me some too! I think the last ride did them in. It was a glider ride where you lay down and get strapped in, then it lifts you up, tilts and goes in circles. Mom and Dad walked a little funny afterwards and said "Okay, that was fun but I'm done!" Their color came back to normal after a few minutes!
We ate corndogs and funnel cakes and of course, mom got her favorite Malone's Taffy.
I had a great time and can't wait until next year! Hope more friends and family can come with us too!

Sunday Morning Church at Pinelake

Our family has been attending Pinelake Baptist Church and we have decided to make it our church home. We will become members and Bill and I will be baptized as adults during a baptism ceremony. Ryan-Parker and Porter have enjoyed attending the children's ministry classes there and making new friends from our bible study group. We all feel truly blessed!

These are pictures of Ryan-Parker and I coming home from church one Sunday. I was so impressed that he opened the door for his mommy! What a gentleman! We took a sweet picture together on the stairs as well. We are working on our prayers and enjoying children's bible studies at school and at home.

You can check out our church by visiting http://www.pinelake.org/. We are at the Brandon/Reservoir location. Hope you can attend with us one Sunday!

Goodbye Prayer to Puppy Bella

Monday, October 6th, our precious puppy Bella who was 5 1/2 months old, passed away. Bill and I had taken her in the week before and unfortunatly on Monday, her symptoms had progressed. We were informed that after several diagnostic exams, Bella was born with a rare genetic birth disorder of the entire colon, causing a rapid decline in her functioning. Decisions had to be made about her care which was very difficult. Bill and I thank my brother Eric, who is the Vet Tech who works right alongside Dr. William's at Oakdale Animal Hospital. They treated our family, including our Bella, with love, dignity and grace. We will miss her deeply....we all loved her, especially Ryan-Parker and Porter.

May the Lord watch you and keep you-Ashley

To Bella

She arrived in late Spring
Like a fresh gentle breeze
She was a small little baby just four weeks old
Curious and hopeful
A loving, trusting pup...

She was strong and unflinching
Vivacious and lively
She was radiant...she was youthful
She was ours...

We shared her life with our children and she taught them so many things in return.

Now it is Fall and this season had to come,
But this time she has to go...
We cared for her deeply
and this in Heaven, she will know.

Fingerprints

Today I came across a framed picture of Ryan-Parker's hand and finger prints that he made at the end of the year school graduation for the 3-year old class. It is framed but I had yet to hang it. It is precious to me and I am hanging it now. You can see it and read the poem below.
This comes on a day that I am very sentimental as I found out that the kindergarten that I attended....in....well, let's just say in the 70's and several of my nieces and nephews have been to since is not going to offer 5 year-old kindergarten next year. So, I realized that he will be going to Rouse Elementary School which holds K-3rd grade. His cousin Braden is there just one year ahead of him so that will be good. I realized today too that he may be riding the school bus home with Braden and getting off at the bus stop where myself and my siblings were dropped off until late in high school. I was reassured that my dad walked down the street (they live in a cull-de-sac) and Braden happily greets him each afternoon from being so excited about being a big boy riding the bus.

I knew it was coming...just didn't realize so soon! My baby boy is growing so fast into a big boy despite my efforts of wanting him to remain little forever !
But, as Bill has always told me about both the kiddos...each milestone is a new adventure that I will absolutely love about their growing personalities...
and so it should be. The best it yet to come!
-Ashley

Sometimes you get discouraged because I am so small
and always leave my fingerprints on furniture and walls.

But everyday I'm growing:
I'll be grown up someday,
and all those little fingerprints will surely fade away.

So here's my latest fingerprints
just so you can recall
exactly how my fingers looked when I was very small.

Kennedy Family Vacation 2008- Pensacola, FL

We had a great time at our family vacation this year. The whole family got to go to Pensacola, FL for several days. While there, we walked on the fishing pier, went on a dolphin sight-seeing cruise, swam in the ocean, built sand castles, rode a trolley splashed in the cool spashground and rested in hot tub while making new friends! We got to eat lots of great food and mommy especially loved going places to eat raw osters, boiled srimp and so on!

I had a wonderful time with Porter as we got to share so many memories together. It's all I talk about and ask my mom and dad if we can go back almost daily. Hope we can soon!

David Beckham Academy Interview

I love soccer so much...I am alot like my daddy....which, by the way, is a two-time All-American Soccer Player!!!!!!!!!!!
I am really getting better and I am enjoying my soccer team and Coach Westbrook. I have learned so much!

Mommy, Daddy and I always tease about David Beckham when I score. I give a thumbs up and mommy always laughs and says "Go, Beckham!". It is funny to me.
My mom would love for me to go to this academy one day, it is REALLY cool.
